Devised theater workshop

We will learn what performance is from three perspectives. As an artistic phenomenon that emerged in the 1960s, as an academic field and as a way of looking at the world. We will see examples of performance artists and ask if the phenomenon still exists and how.

In this workshop, participants will learn how to look for inspiration in their own immediate environments:. the contents of a purse,, newspaper articles, textbooks, and everyday documents and will all serve as points of departure for creating documentary narratives.

How to use an idea or theme to create an original work with its own world of content, text, image and sound. Physical materials brought by participants are used to create a work enriched with layers of imagery.
